Permit Summary

Drillsearch has an 11% interest in the Tintaburra Block and its associated production licences (PL). The previous term of the exploration portion expired on the 31 December, 2008. The Joint Venture has applied to renew the permit over a reduced area for a further four year term.

Located in the Eromanga Basin of south-west Queensland the Block has an aerial extent of 3,529km² (872,030 acres). The Block includes 15 oilfields where the oil is predominantly produced from the Wyandra/Murta Formation, the Jurassic Birkhead Formation and the Hutton Sandstone.

In 2012 the Block contributes, on average, a monthly cumulative production of approximately 41,500bbls and Drillsearch’s 2P Reserves are 5.55MMstb. To learn more about the Tintaburra Block production and Reserves review click here.

Recent Activity

During the September 2012 quarter a drilling campaign in the Tintaburra block commenced with the explroation well Olive Oyl-1 which was plugged and abandoned. One development and two appraisal wells were drilled in the Toobunyah Oil Field to further develop and add oil Reserves in the Toobunyah Hutton and Birkhead reservoirs. The results of this drilling led to a better understanding of the reservoir characteristics and sand orientation and improved understanding of water encroachment and sweep in the Birkhead.

Furthermore, 10 development wells have been identified for drilling to be spread over the year 2013 and 2014. Provision has also been made for completion and connection of wells drilled between the year 2012 and 2014.
