Permit Summary

ATP 924P is located in the north western area of the Queensland Eromanga Basin, 140km south-west of Windorah. Its northern area lies outside the Permian sub crop, partial sub crop is present to the south. The entire area overlies the Jurassic to Cretaceous Eromanga Basin. The area of the permit is 2,375km².

ATP 924P lies over the Yamma Yamma Depression and eastern Windorah Trough. The Yamma Yamma Syncline and Durham Downs Anticline run north south through the permit area.

Previous wells drilled in the area have intersected oil shows in many of the target formations. The Inland oil discovery is on the flank of the Morney Anticline to the north and is a good analogue to use in the exploration of ATP 924P. Other good analogues to use are the anticlinal Barrolka gas fields to the south, the Cook oil field to the south west and the Marengo gas field.

Recent Activity

All publicly available geologic and geophysical data was compiled and input into a comprehensive assessment of the remaining petroleum prospectivity of the basin. The basin-wide study is ongoing. The research over ATP 924P area showed seven potential leads with prospective oil in place up to 3.6 MBBLS. The forward work program for the block will include seismic reprocessing and acquisition (2D/3D) over the prospective areas. 

The block has received the Native Title and Environmental Authority and is expected to be granted in the next few months.
